Three main ways: the direct bus (about 2.5 to 3 hours, ¥3,000 to ¥4,500), a shared transfer (from ¥7,000 to ¥12,000 per person), or a rental car (a 4WD is advisable in winter). Buses fill up in peak weeks, so book ahead.

Niseko's 26-27 season runs 2026/11/28 to 2027/5/5 (provisional), with night skiing from 12/12 to 3/22. In past seasons, conditions have been good from 20 December to mid-March, and after mid-March the snow actually suits practising technique.

Pick accommodation within a 5 minute walk of a lift, and collect rental gear the afternoon before to miss the morning queue. Children under 7 are taught one to one for safety; from 7 they can join a regular group. The Tube Park takes ages 3 and up, and the onsen has height rules, so check before you go.

Sansui Niseko (natural onsen, FUYU coaches based on site, 5 minutes' walk to the King Gondola), AYA Niseko (ski-in/ski-out with a kitchen, good for families) and Setsu Niseko (design-led and private). Book 2 to 3 months ahead for peak season.

FUYU SKI School runs private lessons entirely in Chinese, with 34 bilingual coaches (8 of them Technical Directors) across Niseko, Rusutsu, Kiroro and Sapporo Teine. Four levels, Beginner to Specialty, plus children's lessons and backcountry guiding, with video and coach notes after each lesson.

Niseko Tap Room (craft beer and fried wings), AFURI Ramen (light yuzu broth), Hirafuzaka (thin-crust pizza), Otsukisama (rich miso), Rakuichi (soba) and Taj Mahal (Indian curry). At the higher end, Sushi Shin inside Sansui.

Roads around Niseko are icy through winter, so a 4WD is strongly advisable and you should have some snow driving experience. Without it, take the direct bus or a private transfer instead.
