Teine resort season
We offer fully bilingual private lessons at Teine. It's about 15km west of central Sapporo — one of the few resorts in Hokkaido you can visit without an overnight stay.
It's a genuinely good option if you want to try skiing without a big commitment — the resort size, snow conditions and easy access are all beginner-friendly.

Who Teine Lessons Are For
Based in Sapporo, want just one ski day
No need to relocate to a resort just to ski. Head out in the morning, back in Sapporo for dinner — no need to restructure your whole trip.
First time skiing
The Olympia area's Shirakaba run averages just 5–13 degrees of slope, with wide-open space so you don't have to worry about losing control near others. The Highland area also has a 4km "Natural" run averaging just 8 degrees — rare among resorts, it lets beginners ride all the way down from the summit.
Families with kids
The Olympia area has SNOW-LAND, a dedicated snow play zone with sledding, tube slides and snowshoe walks — sleds are free to borrow. Somewhere for kids to go once they're tired of skiing.

Been to Hokkaido many times, want to add a day
The Highland area has an FIS-recognized women's giant slalom course and "Hokuheki," a run with a maximum pitch of 36 degrees — plenty for experienced riders too.
Want to hit the snow early
Opens 21 November — the earliest of any resort in Hokkaido.
Night skiing at Teine
Teine's night skiing is in the Olympia area, open until 8pm (last lift 19:45).
Runs open at night are Shirakaba Sunshine (520m, beginner) and Shirakaba Sunrise (300m, intermediate).
What makes Teine's night skiing unique is that it's just 15km from Sapporo. You could spend the day shopping and having lunch in the city, head out in the evening for two or three hours of skiing, then return for dinner. That's not something you can do at other resorts.
A few practical notes:
- Rental is on Olympia Ski Center's 3rd floor, open until 8pm (the Highland rental shop only runs until 16:30 — rent at Olympia for night skiing)
- By bus, get off at "Teine Olympia-mae"
- Temperatures drop noticeably at night — bring good gloves and a face covering

Our meeting point is Olympia Ski Center at the base, where you can also rent gear. The Olympia area only opens 12/5 — if your trip falls between 21 Nov–4 Dec, the meeting point shifts to Highland Ski Center, which we'll confirm with you when you book.

Tube slide age rules: solo riders must be 4+; tandem riders 4+ in any combination; a 3-person tube with a parent allows children as young as 2.
Which Teine Lift Ticket to Buy
Teine splits pricing into four seasonal tiers — a regular-season adult day pass is ¥8,400 online, dropping to just ¥5,700 in Special Spring (from 30 March). Online purchase is always ¥1,000 cheaper.
Tickets are required from age 4. Worth noting: Teine's lift tickets are non-refundable for any reason once purchased, and lost tickets aren't replaced.

FAQ
Getting to Teine
About 30 minutes and ¥1,360 from central Sapporo via JR + bus, or a direct hotel shuttle (¥7,800 round trip, about 50 minutes). A day trip is comfortably doable — head out in the morning, back in the city for dinner.
Where to Stay for Teine
Most guests simply stay in central Sapporo — dinner and shopping at night, out to ski in the morning, back by evening. No need to restructure your trip around skiing. If you take the direct shuttle, it stops at several city hotels worth prioritizing when booking.
